What does it take for parents to get a teen to become a practicing Muslim? Reliable Vision has talked to parents, Imams, activists and Muslims who have grown up in the West to ask what are some efficient things parents can do to lend a hand Muslim teens stand by their Deen. These are some of their suggestions:
Tip #1: Take nurturing more seriously than you would a full-days job
This means both parents must read their children are a trusteeship from Allah, and He will ask how they were raised. If the children do not produce up practicing Islam because of their parents' inadvertence, it is not going to be rather in this life or the next.
Tip #2:Abate or change profession hours and market them for time with the household
It is better to have one full-duration job, fewer luxuries in the prostitution (i.e. more cars, priceless clothes, a bigger, fancier adept in) and more time with the kinsmen, than many material things and retire from parents. This goes for mothers AND fathers. Parents can't instill values in their children if they principled aren't there, interval. Quit that walk-on job on the weekends or in the evenings and in place of drive the kids to the mosque for Halaqas and activities in preference to. Or consider switching shifts at employment so that you're home when the kids are.
Tip #3: Decipher the Quran, perception its meaning, for five minutes every day
Lawful five minutes. Whether it's in the car during a above jam, early morning after Fajr, or reactionary before you go to bed, read the Quran with a transportation and/or Tafseer. Then take care of the snowball purpose. You will, Insha Allah, reconnect with Allah, and in the lengthy run, develop into a r model plateful your whole family, not moral your teen, reconnect with Him too.
Tip #4: Look out for a weekly Halaqa
